About Me
I’m a Researcher and Technical Lead on the Applied Systems Team at The Center for AI Standards and Innovation located within the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) where I am supported by the TechCongress AI Safety Fellowship. Before this, I completed a PhD at Brown University with Seny Kamara (with mentorship from Suresh Venkatasubramanian). During that time, I also worked at IBM Research, Adobe, and Arthur AI. For my undergraduate studies, I went to the University of Maryland – College Park where I studied Computer Science and Mathematics.
My research addresses the challenges of evaluating AI Systems. Specifically, I work on the design, implementation, and analysis of algorithms that identify failures or risks posed by AI, with specific focus on evaluating AI systems under uncertainty in real-world settings. The high level goals of this work are to (1) make AI more responsible and trustworthy, and (2) develop ideas that address emerging challenges at the intersection of computation and society.

Misc
- When I’m not doing research, I play the bass (!) and try to listen to as much music as I can. Here are some albums I’m really into at the moment (in no particular order):
- No Beginning No End – Jose James [2012]
- Corinne Bailey Rae (Self-Titled) [2006]
- Absolutely – Dijon [2021]
- Calico – Ryan Beatty [2023]
